Lisa Tagliaferri builds teams, technical resources, and open source software in the tech startup space. Lisa is currently Head of Developer Education at Chainguard, where she is developing resources to help make the secure way to do things across the software lifecycle the easy way. Previously, Lisa led the Developer Education teams at Sourcegraph and at DigitalOcean. Lisa has written popular open access books and tutorials on Python, machine learning, Linux, and cloud infrastructure, drawing over 45 million global readers.
An interdisciplinary researcher in tech and the humanities, Lisa is a Visiting Scholar at Rutgers University, where she is teaching a graduate seminar on Digital Humanities. Lisa has held research and software development positions at MIT and Harvard University’s Villa I Tatti, and she holds a PhD from the City University of New York, and an MSc in Computer Science from the University of London. Lisa advocates for greater technical literacy across communities; taking a long view of innovation and access that dates back to the 14th century.
